11:00 am – Fat in the Wild: Adventures in the Outdoors

The mountains, trees, and animals do not care what you look like or what you can do, but that isn't always true about the people in the outdoors. I once thought that the world of outdoor adventuring was reserved for the young, the thin, the super fit and let's face it, the men. Growing up I didn't see my body represented in the outdoor media that I consumed and that made me believe that I didn't belong there. Now I'm here and very much fat AND outdoorsy. If being a hiker, rock climber, biker, camper, or any of those outdoor ventures sounds exciting, but you don't think you belong there because you're in a bigger body? Let me show you that that isn't true. We all deserve to be fat and in the wild if that's where we want to be.

12:30 pm – Drawing fat bodies!

As an artist that almost exclusively draws fat bodies, it is my passion to teach others what I have had to learn on my own. This workshop might feature a live model, come prepared for a fun learning experience!

Participants will have the opportunity to explore their own relationship with pleasure and discuss means of accessing desire and arousal through various means. Attendees also explore how pleasure and erotism may be enhanced through the use of sex toys and accessories that are specifically designed with larger bodies in mind. You're not a skinny person trapped in a fat person's body who just needs to find the right diet! You're fat and you deserve to love every inch of your fat body and take up space doing what you love. Lindsay Johnson, aka Fantastical Fatty, is a fat joy activist who began their fat liberation journey in 2019 after decades of weight cycling to the point of obsession. When Lindsay finally let go of the pursuit of thinness and made peace with being fat, it was now so obvious how we've all been taught our entire lives that being fat is bad.

Spoiler alert: That means we can also train our minds to see our bodies as powerful, beautiful, and strong exactly as they are right now. Lindsay's invitation to reframe the way you view your body as powerful, strong, and worthy will help you come at as fat so you can ditch any lingering obsessions with thinness and finally live your best, fat joy life!
