Volunteer with us at Fat Con

As a volunteer, you'll have the opportunity to be an integral part of our event and contribute to its success.

You will have the chance to attend convention events and panels outside of your scheduled volunteer shifts. The majority of shifts will take place at the King Street Ballroom &  Embassy Suites  - 255 S King St, Seattle, WA 98104.

Our volunteer positions are open to anyone, no one will be turned away based on race, gender, body size, disability status, age, or sexual orientation.

You are able to sign up for either a 6 or 12 hour trade agreement. If you do 12 volunteer hours, we will be able to provide you with a $0 badge. For 6 volunteer hours, we will be able to provide you with a $100 badge. You will not be able to sign up for more than 16 hour or less than 6 hours. All shifts will be a maximum of 2 hours in length.

Positions Currently Available

We have several new positions available as we continue to grow Fat Con.

  • Assistant to the Programming Director

As the Assistant to the Director of Programming, you will support the planning and execution of program schedules, assisting with the coordination of sessions and speaker logistics. Your role involves managing communications, organizing materials, and ensuring smooth programming operations. Your attention to detail and ability to multitask will be key to delivering an exceptional attendee experience.

  • Assistant to the Exhibits & Experience Director

Provides administrative support to the Director of Exhibits and Experiences. Responsibilities include tracking Marketplace schedules, coordinating logistics with vendors, managing staff/volunteers for VIP and green room spaces, and acting as a liaison with vendors.

  • Access Concierge Coordinator

Manages the event's access table to ensure all attendees have the necessary accommodations and support. This vital role maintains a thorough knowledge of on-site accessibility resources and assists in procuring essential health and safety items, including basic first aid supplies, masks, and COVID-19 rapid tests.

  • Stage Manager

Running sound and tech for the Opening Ceremonies, Fashion Show, and Closing Ceremonies. Additionally, this role maintains a comprehensive overview of all ongoing activities within the panel rooms to ensure seamless programming flow and technical consistency across the venue.

  • Logistics Manager

Responsible for overseeing the entire load-in and load-out process at the Conference Center. This essential role involves directly managing and coordinating the dedicated volunteer teams to ensure a highly efficient and organized setup and teardown for the event.
